Nick HarrisonNick draws on years of experience as a journalist, diplomat and magazine publisher in guiding the content development of websites.

He believes in website presentations that have immediate clarity of purpose, and promotes a business-case approach backed by specialized staffing and consistent monitoring for effectiveness.

For the past seven years he has helped shape editorial policies and practices for the external sites of the World Bank, and was Head of Content for the Development Gateway, an international partnership site dedicated to capturing knowledge from around the world and presenting it in a manner that clarifies issues and increases the ability of people in the developing world to benefit from international programs.

Previously, he owned and operated a full-service magazine publishing firm for nearly 20 years, specializing in the development, marketing and production of periodicals in fields ranging from real estate finance to business relations with China and international urban development.

A former member of the U.S. Diplomatic Corps, he served as press attaché in Guatemala and Chile, and wrote articles in English and Spanish as Chief Congressional Correspondent for the U.S. Information Agency.

Nick’s professional roots go back to serving as a crime reporter for Associated Press in New York City and working with students as assistant director of public affairs at a campus of the City University of New York.

He holds a master's degree in Latin American Studies and a bachelor's in Journalism, and is based in Washington D.C.
